Zbrush Questions

I am new to sculpting and considering purchasing either zbrush or mudbox. I have watched the tree troll mudbox tutorial and while it looks nice I want to find out if zbrush can do the same thing so I have a list of questions if you guys don’t mind answering :slight_smile:

  1. Mudbox has layers. Does zbrush have anything related to this so I could remove a whole section or lower the opacity of it?

  2. Mudbox has Bump Map painting directly on the model. This seems VERY good. Does ZBrush have this feature too?

  3. Mudbox has specular painting directly on the model. Can ZBrush do this?

  4. Mudbox can turn off diffuse colors to do bump and specular painting. Zbrush?

  5. Vector displacement stencils and creation. Can Zbrush make vector displacement patterns and also use them?

  6. Mudbox has tileable texture creation. Does ZBrush have it too?

  7. What is the difference between Cavity AO and normal AO?

I have used Zbrush and mudbox very limited though because of zero education just messing around. I have found Zbrush’s sculpting tools much more nice as in natural and what you would expect whereas mudbox is kinda splodgy if that makes sense. Anyone else think the same way or am I doing something wrong in mudbox?

Also if the question is no to the answers is there any word of zbrush getting these in future?
