zbrush-photoshop????

does anyone know how to use a zbrush document in photoshop?
i want to touch my work up in photoshop from zbrush, but, it says its da wrong file type!!!
ive got a college interview soon and wanna show my zbrush work but dont know how!!!

please help me!!!:confused:

Lol you need more training buddy perhaps you need college how can you not know ps is that a pre requit for zbrush?

Any image can be used in PSD bmp TIF GIF JPEG if you need a layer to go just use magic wand or a mask.

even if you cant use a PSD getting rid of a layer should be an easy task.

You definetly need some books before you go to school.

When I go to classes I do the entire semesters books over the summer before the school. And it served me well with 3.8 GPA’s.

I wouldnt even bother learning game engine coding till you at least read a begginers book on c++ or csharp or whatever.or went to art school or game design school or film school. unless I had a better understanding.

I dont know how far your going in school, or what exact field.

You should definetly go to amazon.com and buy a
c++ coding book or csharp or c whatever you plan on using.
a PS book and a 3d modeling book of your favorite app. Zbrush is good but its just a tool not a 3d app.

and understanding 3d texturing. And UV mapping and PS uv Mapping editing.Or Bodypaint or another uv editor
and 3d world enviroment.

then move onto animation books.[Animation coding scripting]

its kinda odd to see someone start with advanced sculpting and move backwards.

Do you know any 3d apps?

plus I tested out of alot crap.

No I Am Not Familiar With Any 3d Apps (maya, 3ds Max Etc) But Am Of To College To Learn Maya. Thanks For The Advice Tho!

Well its a learning process it took me years to get into advanced film and modeling. I firs tlearned 3ds max then c4d then animation coding then Endorphine and Mocap then I came to zbrush.

of course its was alot more complex then that but like I said its weird to start from the top like this.

I just hope it doesnt ruin you theres alot you need to know.

But dont ge tme wrong any app that can start you off into the 3d world is a god send 3dsmax I hate. its not until c4d i lved to model. but thats me

I still have to give 3dmax its credit tho it started me on the basics.

To create a clean mask to use in photoshop, here’s one easy way to do it. Where the zoom, scroll, actual, aahalf, etc buttons are in the UI, hit actual. Then hit grabdoc under the alpha menu in ZB. You will see your model’s alpha appear in the alpha menu. Select it. There’s a “curves” adjustment under the same alpha menu. Drag the middle point to the upper left corner of the curves graph. Your alpha should turn solid white.

In the alpha menu hit export and save it. This exports a psd that can be used for a perfect mask.

When you export your psd of the actual art and model, hit aahalf. Open the two files in Photoshop. The alpha will be twice the size of the art. Go to image size and make the alpha exactly half the size using pixel math. Make the windows so that you can see both files open on screen.

Select the move tool. Hold Shift, and drag the alpha over to the art. The alpha layer can be used as an exact mask. Just take the magic wand, select inside or outside the white, which ever you need. Hide the alpha layer and select the art layer. You will have a perfectly clean selection and can extract the art from the background, or do whatever the need to do! Save the selection for ease of use. Good luck!
