Is it normal behavior for Zbrush to open unique copies of Maya for each click of the goZ button?

I got it working. I turned off my virus protector. Reset everything. Made sure Maya was closed and I hit the goZ button. Works like a charm.
The first time, I didn’t realize there was a goZ button. So I read a post that showed how to put the goZ button on a shelf in Maya. And I had Maya open when I first clicked the goZ button in Zbrush. That wasn’t so successful.
