Zbrush novice here looking for helping on Maya Model - Zbrush- maya animation.

Firstly, I’m sorry if this is the wrong forum to ask for help in but I was not really sure where else to put it.

Anyway, I’ve looked through tutorials but they mention stuff that I have no idea about so I was wondering if anyone could explain it in a simple way for someone who has little to no experience with z-brush other then what I’ve seen and touched on slightly.

I’ve made a basic model in Maya that I want to add detail too but then also animate it back in Maya obviously I wouldn’t be able to animate the final detailed model that I created in zbrush because it would be too complex for me to do so I was wondering the best way to do enable me to animate the model but still having some of the detail I create with zbrush? My friend told me there might be a ‘skin’ option that turns what I model into a skin that I can put over a more basic model to give it a texture/detail which would make it easy to model, does such a thing exists? if not what should I do? I was told about displacement mappings or something?

I’m really sorry if these are stupid questions but I would just like to know basically how it can be done and how difficult it is to do so? Picking 3d animation for my final project was not the best idea but I want to learn .

On a side note, I would need to have my UV mappings done on Maya before I import it into Zbrush correct? Just want to make sure.

Thanks in advance.
