Zbrush normal maps in Max 2009

Ok, so i have been sculpting extra detail onto my modles made in max using zbrush and then making normal maps in zmapper. It all works fine apart from the fact that the normal maps don’t seem to be pronounced enough.

I have noticed in the zmapper previews that the detail doesn’t come out as defined as the actual sculpture was, but when i take them into max they are even more subtle. I am having to exagerate all my details quite alot to get a decent result in max.

Is there a way i can remedy this?
