Zbrush metric units?

Hi,
I need to design internal of a part in Autodesk Inventor but the exterior of it in ZBrush (new to it, just stepped in). I need that finally 3D print both parts and assemble them based on screw holes I made in design. So, I must be able to use metric system for the design. The Inventor part is obvious.

Do ZBrush provide facility of exact modeling based on Metric units or I’m wrong in choice please? If it lets do it, could you please turn me to a tutorial where I could learn it? Googling didn’t let me know it, also could not find it on youtube.

Thank you in advance

Units within ZBrush are completely arbitrary. They can be whatever you want them to be. (In truth, all 3D space is arbitrary. When a program gives you units, it’s doing so as a convenience but it is you that actually determines what those units mean. So long as you are consistent throughout your project, you’ll get the desired results upon export from the application.)

For example, you can import scale drawings to use as reference images.

You can also use Preferences >> Transpose Units to calibrate the Transpose line to act as a measuring stick. Any time you draw a Transpose line it will then show you the distance in whatever units you specified.

Either way, upon export from ZBrush using 3D Print Exporter you would specify the exact scale of the model in the units of your choice.

By experience with other programs I know what you are saying is accurate answer, but being new to ZBrush, I can not fully imagine what to do.

Could you please kindly give a link to any tutorial, where this technique you explained is used, so I could see in a small example, how to correctly setup? If I could find such an example, I did it just as-is and got an object from wood by loading STL file to cnc machine and then felt good

well, felt good for good results, or back to forums
