ZBrush/Maya questions

I’ve modeled a simple wooden sign in Maya that I want to texture using ZBrush 3.2 Mac - I inserted edge loops for hard edges and added proper topology. I’ve imported it into ZBrush as an obj, increased the resolution to @ 2 million, and applied a texture w/ an imported wood alpha. I lowered the res down to Level 1, made a Disp map, click on “GoZ”. It opens in Maya, except the original creased edges of the original Maya model are now smoothed- looks like Level 1 of ZB. Any ideas? I tried the “Crease” command within the Geometry setting, but results. Also having difficulty creating multiple layers and assigning different strengths to each. Any tips there? Is the ZB “Texture map” the same as a Bump map? If so, can I use the same Alpha from the Disp Map to make it, and what settings do I activate within that menu? How do you import a complex Maya model into ZBrush and separate the different parts for texturing? I made my Maya model with separate parts not touching, and masked them within ZB , but is there a better approach?

for your last question. you can use subtool or polygroup. and I think you can just use your texture map as a bump map for Maya.
