ZBrush Maya Obj seperation

I have made a base mesh in maya and throw it into zbrush. Everything is fine here, but when i export back to maya its no longer a solid piece. Its a bunch of small pieces. The form is still there its just that they are all seperated.

I checked my import export preferences and have all the flips turned off and no polygroups.

Any suggestions?

Check your Tool>Export settings. For example, you might get the results you need if you turn off the Grp switch. Or if you turn on the Mrg switch.
