ZBrush instances

I’m new to ZBrush so forgive this obviously new question, but I’m having quite a bit of trouble with navigation on here.

It seems that when I import a mesh, if I add it to a subgroup I end up having an instance of that mesh created, which makes previewing Zsub useless. How do I avoid the instances and just have the subgroups created? Video captured to illustrate issue:http://youtu.be/GJXrr1armbo

Are you merging or importing? I guess I am a little lost as to what exactly you’re doing.
Are you using tool.import?
zplugin.subtoolMaster.multi-append?
Another method?

Oh man never mind, when combining the bumper meshes from Maya, the normals of the filmed mesh reversed. Easy fix, thanks though
