I’ve always thought that Softimage (XSI) would be a great mate for ZBrush, seeing as Softimage has been ahead of the pack with the Gigacore ability to handle large scenes. I hope there’s a GoZ tie in when ZB4 comes around.
I use Softimage with ZB on daily basis. GoZ is “just” a connector, the features are working now. In general I used to build a basemesh in Softimage (unless I sketch it in ZB, like human basemeshes). I can push the meshes to and fro between ZB and SI, and ZB reproject the higher levels onto the new topology. I do it everyday. So, GoZ is IN ZB, but you operate it manually. And if I need to make an asset to my character I export one of the mid level geometry of the character to serve as a base in SI (now it’s about 1.5 million polys)
Thanks. What would be the difference between what the workflow is now as compared to a year ago? Here are two “old” videos showing how to work back and forth between ZBrush and XSI. How has it improved with ZBrush 3.5?
