Hi! Well this is my first model, hope you like it!
[gallery entry]
This is my first post on anything. I don’t know what I’m doing in zbrush (I’m just starting to figure out what a polygon and a pixol are) so I can’t really come up with any questions…but here is my first model.
This is my first work in ZBrush.

First work, learned a lot with this, mostly that there is a lot more to learn in zBrush- I Love this tool though, one of the most satisfying modeling/sculpting experiences. Can’t wait to dig in to it!

This piece was sculpted and painted by my 3 year old son. I of course turned off the zadd for him when it was time to poly paint, chose the std brush for him to brush with, toggled on x-sym etc, but all the brush work is his. I think it speaks volumes.
This is my first image in ZB, back in 2004…
This actually got Top Row believe it or not…

My first project in ZBrush 2. Just playing with alphas\sculpting and the projection master on a low-poly model I made in Maya. It was all to play with displacment mapping, and that’s where ZBrush hooked me.
hi everyone,
glad to be here. very fine community with pro´s, semi´pro´s an whatever, respecting each others.
after weeks of waiting for my new comp (although i bought zbrush, but had no time to work with it at work) i started yesterday with my first steps (not to mention my really first try. i forgot to save as a tool and away it was… ).
i started with a standard zsphere. doodling around with the basic tools to get a feeling for the handling. i always try to do following points when starting to get a grip on the model:
the big form influences the small form.
try to make a “logical” model ( mostly skeletal logic)
try to get the right expression.
avoiding patterns (i missed it. i used the horny horns^^).
try smooth out the proportions
took about 15min for this sketch (time for getting familiar with the tools not included. thx at this point for all the great tuts here and at the zbrush-wiki)
//edit:
minor update:
that prog is like swimming in an ocean, no shore in sight with all this tools and options^^.
just working on the details, between all those tutorials and infos i have to read. experimenting with brushes and shaders.
//edit:
time to leave that first work as it is.
the main handling of the basic modelling tools is no problem, but i still have probs how to handle subdivisions, distorted parts of the mesh and texturing.
was fun and now it time to dig deep into zbrush and the tutorials again
to get a proper workflow.

(maybe this is the 2nd post…having problems posting…im new…forgive me plz )
Hello. Here is the work i did when i opened Zbrush for the first time.
very interesting, nice, i like it
hi elektro,
search for ´topology´or ´edge loops´
or go to
http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=44876
in one of the threads i found a link to a forum called subdivision…something
cant found it now, but im sure u will. that thread was amazing and goes deep into that ´edge loop´ stuff and how to set them well for goodworking animations.
there ar some older threads here too. one by ken brilliant. or just look in the wiki.
hi zhaxen,
thank you very much. thats a great help
.
im going there in this second
Hi, everyone! my name is Anmar Almallak I’m from Iraq “please call me vagabond”. I’ve got interested in this challenge so I thought it would be a good opportunity for me to break the ice and get into the Z-Brush community. I’ve wanted to do this for so long but I have been overwhelmed by the great quality of artworks posted. This model was an example I’ve showed a friend of mine just to demonstrate what can be done in Z-Brush with a little bit of creative juice, I made a sketch and followed it but it was never finnished
Oh! I also like to tell you guys about what happened to me lately. A point of change in my life when I’ve got accepted in UCLA for an MFA in Animation. But most of the samples I’ve sent were drawings.
Thank you all! and bless you for your very existence have made this earth a better place.
Yours,
Vagabond
elektro,
found it ^^
take a look at supertheoretical
http://www.subdivisionmodeling.com/forums/showthread.php?t=907
if ur interested, i found another very nice site
showing the megamonstertheoretical site of topological meshmodelling
http://www-viz.tamu.edu/faculty/ergun/research/topology/
check out the modelling tool and the vids there.
absolutly fascinating site about the mathematical aspects and their
direct output to 3dmodelling very nice sculptures (i like that clean logical symmetric meshes and their rendered output)
woohoo!!! thats great, zhaxen!
thats what ive been searching for! you are ending some bad headache on my side!
ive looked in the topo-lab, but didnt found anything. but heres a something usefull from the video-threat :
http://www.houseoftutorials.com.htt…z3/topology.wmv
retopology in action.
thanks again for your tipps.
(we should post infos on this topic in the topo-lab in the future…its not the right threat, i think )
