Zbrush for non-organics?

There almost certainly is a thread about this somewhere, but i couldn’t find one right off the bat;

What are some of the better ways to model non-organics in zbrush? Do i absolutely have to do my non-organics in maya or is there ways in zbrush to achieve similar results?
I know it’s possible, but am not sure where to start. The kind of non-organics i mean are things like tables, archways, doorways, chairs, and just architecture in general. Even a link to a thread discussing this would be much appreciated; I’d love to be able to do architecture without having to rely so much on maya.

Yes, of course you can model hard surface stuff in Zbrush, that`s absolutely no problem.
Check out the ZClassroom. There are lots of great videos which explain the planar brushes and there are is also a video on how to model a car and an alien helmet.

This is also done completely with Zbrush:

Here`s another link which might help you:

And did you see the Zbrush 4 stuff? When it`s released Shadow Box and Match Maker will make it even easier to create hard surface stuff in Zbrush:

Thankyou very much! I’ve been messing with the planar brushes and they seem very promising. I’ll check out those vids as well. Much appreciated!
