Hi guys and one of my first post on this exciting forum.
I have a question:
I recently started to learn zbrush. I want to know about animating the characters I create. In particular workflows for quickly sketching a character to make it ready for animation in a second 3d program. In this instance Cinema 4D. I know that I will need to create good geometry with edge loops and so on.
Is it viable to create rough base meshes in zbrush and export them to another 3d program to add edge loops?
Should I create a base mesh with zspheres and retopologise within zbrush before exporting to animate.
I’m not going to be trying to create the most detailed of models but I would like some very basic human shapes a head, arms torso and legs to deform as well as thing like spiders and insects.
Peace and love to all
Hey. It is possible to retopo your zbrush sculpt in a secondary 3D program, I do it all the time with GoZ and Max. I would imagine that if you are starting with zspheres the best way to retopologise would be within zbrush.
Having said this, if you are using Cinema 4D to animate later anyway, I would create the animation ready base mesh in this software first and then export this to Zbrush for sculpting details and painting etc.
btw: If you do use software like C4D to retopologise using GoZ or manually, try not to alter the silhouette of the model. Zbrush hates it when you do that!
Cheers.
