Hey guys.
I am working on a new model at the moment and I have come across a little problem.
For some odd reason Zbrush has decided to give me some memory error out of the blue. This happens when I want to create a normal map from subd level 4 to subd level 7 with tangent, smoothuv, adaptive and flipG turned on. When i turn off the flipG option I can get the normal map to render out.
Unfortunately my normal map doesnt render out properly in Maya 2010. As evidenced by the pic below.
Seeing how that wasn’t working for me I decided to just use a displacement map to get my intended final result. Unfortunately I am getting that same memory issue when I attempt to create a displacement map that goes from subd level 1 to 7.
This is really weird because not even two weeks ago I created displacement maps for models that were 20million polys.
My system specs have not changed so that can’t be the reason. I am running a intel core2 quad q6600 with 6gigs of ddr2 ram.
If someone could shed some light on this issue with zbrush, and as to why my normal maps are not rendering out properly in Maya it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
KP.
