Zbrush deformation unify

hello, when using tool, deformation, (unify button) does this button change the object’s scale when you export it? or it only modifies it to work better in zbrush?

Hello @kareen_kk ,’’

If you use Tool> Deformation> Unify on a subtool in ZBrush it will resize the mesh to an approximate XYZ size of 2 in the worldspace. If no other factors are involved, then the mesh will export at that size.

If, however, you import a mesh into ZBrush with common formats using the Tool> Import function while the default polymesh3d Star is the active tool, or while any other tool is active that has zero values in the Tool> Export menu, it will auto center and auto scale that mesh to an approximate size of 2–and record the exact values required to re-export it at its original size and position in the same menu. When you export the mesh, it will export back at its original size.

Where this can go wrong is if you import a mesh while a tool that has non-zero values in that menu is active. In this case the incoming mesh will inherit the unique scaling values of that tool, which may result in a scale shift unless this is what you intend to happen.

sorry i have one more question, like you mentioned if i use a primitive that it’s xyz position is at 0, and import the object, to keep the object’s original size when you exporting it, is this method the same as when using scale master?

Can someone explain the purpose of scaling incoming objects based on what’s selected in viewport? I am trying to imagine why anyone would think this is a good idea but I’m having trouble.
