ZBrush DAZ Studio?

I know that you can export tools you make in ZBrush as .obj’s but is there a way that when you import them into DAZ Studio that they keep the colors/materials you made them out of? When I import them into DAZ they simply show up the standard gray.

Does anyone know how to do this? I think it has something to do with uv mapping but I’m not sure and I don’t know how to make a uv map in ZBrush (or any other program for that matter).

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Well, can’t you export textures from ZBrush and later, in Daz, you can create a material using such texture…

If that’s possible then I don’t know how to do it. Does anyone know how?

You can polypaint your object. If it doesn’t already have UV’s, you’ll need to add some, as PUV tiles (UV tab.) Select the texture size your want from the UV Tab as well. From the texture tab, generate a bitmap texture from your polypainting by using “New from Polypaint”. Clone this to the texture pallet and save it as a PSD. You’ll need to flip it vertically in an image editor and probably want to save it as JPG. You can then apply this to your object in DAZ Studio (Surfaces tab).

Zbrush matcaps, in general, won’t transfer easily to DAZ studio, so you may want to fill your object with a “Basic Material” first before painting.

Ah, thank you! =D
