Zbrush crashing when lowering SubDivs.

Hey Guys,
I’m new to Zbrush, used to use mudbox but decided to go with zbrush…

Anyway,
I sculpted a head of about 196,000 Active points. And I have 4 Subdivision levels.
I have polypainted the model to the head texture I want, but it has no UV’s. So I am trying to make UV’s but I need to go to the bottom subdiv level.

When I lower them, it just crashes Zbrush. Any thoughts?

My comp specs are…

Intel i7 6 core 3.33GHz processor, 24GB’s RAM, 3GB Nvidia GTX 590, 4GB HD. And widows 7 Ultimate 64bit

shouldn’t be crashing…

Turn off
tool.polypaint.colorize
try stepping down.

Make sure you don’t have a mask on (again, shouldn’t matter, but can’t hurt).
Are you stepping down one subD at a time, or dragging the slider? Try one at a time if you’re not.

What are your mem settings inside of preferences?

Hey, thanks for replying.
I’ve tried turning off polypaint and no change. I don’t have a mask. and I’m subding one at a time, and I just get crash after crash.

What should I change my mem settings to?

See this post.

No change, still crashing. I’ve got a beast system, don’t know why its doing this. I’ve restarted my comp and everything.
