ZBrush crashing; recommended system stats?

Hi everyone! I’m having an issue with ZBrush 4.0 crashing when I attempt to bake normal, displacement, etc. maps on any model over 3 million polys.

The computer I’m using is a 5 year-old MacBook with these specs:
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 4 MB
Memory: 4 GB
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT

I’m not sure if the crashing is because it needs more RAM or what. I’ve considered getting a new computer but I wanted to see what you guys think. Could I maybe just buy more RAM?

Is this a RAM problem, graphics card problem, or what?

Your computer should be able to handle tasks like this without trouble – assuming that you’re using good settings.

What are your settings in the Preferences>Mem menu?

How about in the Tool>Displacement Map menu when you try to create a map?

How many polys does the model have at its highest level?

I’ve attached a screenshot of the Mem settings – I actually haven’t fiddled with those at all.

Currently the model is composed of 4 subtools, and is sitting at 3.5 million total.

The Displacement Map options are greyed out for the time being, so I wasn’t sure what to look for.

Thanks for your help!
