Hi All,
I am new to Zbrush… have been testing it for one week now. What a great piece of software though I have been dealing with some annoying crashes almost every time I attempt to save my ZTL files.
Is it normal? if not, is there any specific work around to avoid the crashing at the specific moment you are saving the file. I thought that by saving versions instead of overwriting the file would help me, but no success.
So, if anyone here knows what to do, please share with me.

download the subtool master plugin
use the save Ztool button in there.
make sure all of the model is visible
make sure all masks are cleared
ALWAYS save at your LOWEST subD
I have never crashed during a save btw
I had a similar problem, and in addition to the advice above from goast666 suggested for you, I also followed some other advice. Saving with the Subtool Master may be all you need to do, but if you’re still having problems, you can try the steps mentioned in this thread:

So far, I haven’t had any crashes caused when saving the ZTL after I have installed the SubTool Master.
