Zbrush corrupted model on saving

Hi, I was just scuplting my zbrush model on the 7th subdivision level, and when I tried to save, it said I needed more memory or whatever, then automatically made my model look like this:

Is this it for my model. or is it reversable?

The Program also crashes when I try going to the 1st subdiv level. using zbrush 3.1 here Cheers.

well like dude maybe that memory warning meant something right? what are your memory and undo settings at, what are your system specs?

My system is:

Intel C2D E6600 2.66 ghz
4GB DDR2 Ram
Nvidia Geforce 8800GT 512mb

I had only just noticed ‘mem’ was at 256 and undo level of 4 before the program completely crashed :frowning:

always make sure no parts of a subtool are hidden, never save with a mask on…ALWAYS save at your lowest SubD…not highest. and move your mem up to 3k or so.

Yes, you can set Compact Mem to about 3000. How many polygons did your model have at its highest level?

I also recommend that you use SubTool Master to save your models. You can get it from the Download Center, and it has routines that help avoid possible file corruption.

i have just the same problem, guys isn’t really anyway to recover the file? cuz I spent the whole week on my project and bam! I lost the last 3 days?! :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

none. A corrupted file is gone forever.
