ZBrush can't load ZTool and crashes to desktop

ZBrush can’t load ZTool and crashes to desktop. Size of the tool is around 1GB and contains 25 subtools. The only way I can load this ZTool by first loading some other tool and then loading/replacing with this one. What is going on???

You really haven’t provided enough info to help you. What version of ZBrush are you using? Is the issue only happening with this model? What version was used to create the model? How many polygons is the model? What are your system specs? Anything else you can think of that might help?

Hello,

I’ve got the same problem. The tool doesn’t load at all. ZBrush says there isn’t sufficient system memory and crashes. I’m using ZBrush 3.5R3 on a Windows 32 bit system, with 2 gigs of ram. The tool has 10 subtools, and the total pointcount is 11.5 million. The heaviest subtool has about 2 million polys. Compact mem set to 1500. Max poly per mesh is 7.5.

It’s only happening with this model, but this is the heaviest sculpt I’ve worked on.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Sounds like they better cracking on 64bit Zbrush…

thanks, aurick, for your reply and patient

I have allready solved that for the time being. There was one sub-tool I’ve deleted and everything goes okay now. That sub-tool was not corrupted or smth, but contained only highest subdividion level. Meanwhile other sub-tools contained highest and lowest sub-d levels and during load time I’ve always kept them at lowest sub-d level.

ZBrush runs on WinXP x64 and 8GB RAM. But it don’t use that much memory anyway, only 2,5 GB maximum. Meanwhile other apps (3ds Max, Photoshop, xNormal etc.) use it very well.
