Zbrush AUTOBACK??

Hello! =)

someone could tell me if zbrush has autoback?

already tried and not found, and I think very bad, because it is a program that uses lots of memory pc, so is any little problem with masks, or when it will move an object, always zbrush closes and I lose everything, from modeling to or videos that I record. and the program will already have 10 years no one thought of it or is it just my zbrush q crashes or closes alone? and is still the original zbrush, why bother me a bit these locked.

thx

What do you mean by “autoback”? I’ve never heard of that.

I think he means autobackup aurick.

autoback is what 3ds max uses to back up. it saves 3 temp files in rotation every X minutes (usually 5) overriding the oldest. It ensures a program crash doesn’t knock you back to the stoneage.

It would be a nice option, but it would need to have settings, like “do not save during brush strokes” and the option to turn it off completely. Perhaps an iterative save button.

to answer your original question, no Zbrush doesn’t have this yet. I’d recommend just learning to CTRL-S enter every few minutes, and about every half hour or so CTRL-s and add 1 to the end of the filename. I believe there is a Zscript that adds buttons for this, I’d have to dig it up though.

aurick - hello! =) so, is how the “zber” said, is a auto backup. =) thx for coments =)

zber2 - hello - exactly! =) thx for coments.

Artesia - hey man! =) how ur? so…Yes I use it every half hour or five minutes, but within half an hour of modeling is to much, hehe, and this is not the worst. The worst is that most times the zbrush closes, and still corrupts the file. Complicated =) Hehe

Do not know why I did not implement all something like that, it would be interesting to generate a txt file with the position information of each vertex and color values, just to ensure that your model will be partially recovered. Or that every time he would export a mesh in obj just to get a copy by guarantee, this will help greatly. Sometimes he does not corrupt the file, but the videos are being written in it never to recover.

A good thing would be if instead of save the video just when they were exported, it would’ve saved when writing this, these same programs to record your computer screen, ever give to “recover” something hehe.

thx for coments bro.=)
