I think the only way you are going to know until it is released and you have it your hands to your test. Base on Ryan’s comments it could be safe to say mesh projection will be very flexible with different meshes.

does it mean, that this feature will work like a shrink wrapper?
It might be so that you have two meshes already - a hipoly and a remade topology made in maya.
Now, I would like to import the high and the new-topology-mesh and fit it to the hipoly.

This question is quite much like the other’s I think.
I’d like to hear your reply to that.

My first impression was that Mesh Projection worked really fast!

What about the rig movies ? We cant download them.

Any updates in 2.5d part ? Many of us use zbrush extensively for illustrations. We would like to know from you- any updates or not ? Thats it. :wink:

iF you check the zbrush site you will find the movies there but you cant download them and you cant view them like me if your internet connection is crap.

I ahve been asking Ryan for these movies for downlaod past 2 days.

well it was the weekend.

They do buffer over time, so if you wait long enough they should eventually play at full speed regardless of your connection speed. (watch the grey bar at bottom – that’s your progress meter. it will darken from left to right)

Also worth mentioning… Two of the videos have a really long text intro, so it may seem like they’re frozen when in fact the video is playing just fine.

Also, make sure your Flash plugin is up-to-date as of two years ago. Anything newer than version 6 ought to do it.

Are the any changes regarding z-spheres btw… as i love them but at this point it is very hard to edit them or get good results where many points join :slight_smile:

with the retopo tools, adaptive skinning is mostly obsolete i think. you can rebuild the zsphere-structures surface too. you can see that in the old retopo video. or you can already divide your mesh some time and use the smooth brush heavily if you don’t care about topology :wink:

and yes, please confirm that there will be 2.5d improvements.it’s true that i mostly use the 3d functions, but i’m sure there’s much more possibility in thos tiny pixols.

It can be used only on a rigged model or any 3d surface ?

I should say can it be used even on a 2d texture to create new mesh ?

If so it will be like a tracing tool - the most powerfull one we artists ever had. :bulb: :bulb: :bulb: :bulb: :bulb: :bulb: :bulb: :bulb: :bulb: :bulb: :bulb: :bulb: :bulb: :bulb:

Basically we will be able to create a character right out of its 2d sketch just by tracing it. I know maybe my imagination is running wild but I need to know this from Ryan.

If they have not created it this way also they can think about this - with 2 views ( front and side ways of a 2d sketch we might be able to use it for tracing the edge loops of the 2d character using zsphere lines. ( maybe some one can come out with a plugin on it) just like nurbs in maya or max but more accurate and faster.

They will never release Zbrush if they keep adding all your great ideas.

The Siggraph recappage has been modified to include download links for those of you with difficulties streaming the movies across the web. :slight_smile:

The new ZBrush does have many enhancements that have not been talked about but you didn’t really want to know everything, did you? :slight_smile:

I must say that I am overwelmed with what I have seen. Pixologic you guys rock!

One question… Does anyone know if you extract a mesh, will the new geometry have subdivision history? I mean if you extracted a mesh from a model at say level 5, will the new geometry also be on level 5 with a fully editable level 1,2,3,4?
