indeed it is.
I wasnt able to attend siggraph, but i think pixologic might let you adjust the UI a little more, if not… i dont mind. It took me a few days to find out where to go to get things done and about a week to fully understand it.
And now im cool with the UI.
But here is a photo taken by Rebecca Kimmel.
I just got the chance to watch the new layers video and o my god that’s so good and so helpful when you work with ZBrush yay! to be able to turn on and off details and fade them in and out at will is more than i could have hoped for.
Patiently waiting for more info and videos after Siggraph is over
Cheers and good work guys

I see two new options in preferences menu: “Zsphere” and “Transforms”
I love the new production capabilities of ZBrush 2.5, but it does become frustrating to know what’s coming, but not when.
Please don’t tease us
I’ve been to many Siggraph’s before and even had done quite a few presenations before, but this year’s convention was truely the most meaningful and potentially most successful one ever!
Zbrush 2.5 is already everything a Zbrusher and therefore any future Zbrusher could hope for, and despite the truely adrenaline pumping performance and features it even suggests more growth into regions unknown to the industry or beyond the dreams of what anyone could ever have on his own home system. I’m pretty sure you’ve read all about it already, but I just feel like having to mention how much the latest state was blowing me away again!
Having had the privilege to introduce and show our own ZbornToy After Effects plugin together with the still beautiful performance of Zbrush2.0 was something I can not stop to be eternally greatful about (ahm…guess the word eternally suggests that already). Despite the sensation of jumping into the cold water, presenting something so knew to such a professional and yet diverse audience in the shadow of such an amazing demo of ZBrush2.5, did make me somewhat nervous in the beginning, but the overwhelmingly positive and excited reactions gave me such a boost that I had the greatest time ever, presenting it two additional times at the show. Not to mention that hanging around the booth for most of the demos myself was really a blast to begin with! On top of all that is that everything happened without a glitch, considering again the novelty of it all.
However, what I did not provide was any information in regards to us (Philipp Spoeth, me and a website to our plugin). We are in the process of preparing everything for the release and if you want to stay up to date on it, please keep an eye out on our websites:
www.frischluft.com
www.taron.de
Specific links and other goodies will show up there first!
One more huge big giantic THANK YOU to pixologic for having given us the courtesy to present it and a little “your welcome” to the introduction of Zbrush to the compositing world!
Taron
Thanks for the info Taron.

Roughly 1 to 2 people are viewing this thread, EVERY SECOND!!!
Thnx Taron =)
是新版的功能吗?我说一个“牛”字,希望能被理解!
These new changes are in the coming edition of ZBrush 2.5
Taron, I could not attend Siggy, and I really would like to know more about what your pluggin does. Than you in advance.
Think I get it maybe it was another translator…
Ok, just a little newsflash… a new domain is up, even while there’s not really a website, yet, but this is where everything will be on:
www.taronite.com
What ZbornToy does:
Uses depth images within after effects, corresponding directly with Zbrush’s “alpha depth factor” and allows rendering them with direct and point lights, casting shadows (soft as well) and environmental illumination + occlusion, shading (color-, glossiness-, specular tinting- and translucency-textures), computes refractions of background images through depth image as well as projects caustics from lights through the depth image. That’s it in a nutshell, but there’s a lot more to it, of course. Every parameter is animatable and every parameter that suggests it has a texture layer associated with it.
Since After Effects is a compositing software, every layer/texture can be animated as well, including of course the depth layer itself!
Everything happens very much in realtime, with adaptive downressing by After Effects, depending on your settings. It’s a rather unique feel to see this kind of things with that kind of feedback! You’ll see…
Tomorrow I will prepare a real page with information and more content! So far I’ve just uploaded today’s sketch, which therefore is officially “daily Zbrush/ZbornToy sketch” Nr.1
Thanx for asking!
Tarons plugin was showed in zbrush 2.0...right?...is this mean that we
r still not goin to have zbrush 2.5?..
are you goin to give more info on zbrush 2.5?..or are we goin to have to wait to the preview of zbrush 2.5 at siggraph 2007?..no sarcasm, is just that zbrush 2.5 release date seems to far and away that sometimes i wonder if are we goin to have to wait another two years for the release…and with no real perp. camera …sorry… if have to mention that again…
no complains here, i love zbrush and pixologic…and acrually the fact that i love zbrush and know that it could be many more years until the release is just sad…
best regards
yolao I cant think why pixologic would go and show all these new videos to hype people up again if they didnt intend on realeasing it very soon.
Its been done before where there was a huge delay so cant see why they would do it again intentionaly, unless like I said maybe these videos and updates have nothink to do with the near release time but all to do with siggraph 2006, hence if there was no siggraph nothink would have been said again about this update for a while or till it was near its release.
As things go im making good use out of ZB2 but Id realy like to get posing with this new rigging system.
i hope you`r right…zbrush 2.5 really looks great…a soon release would be wonderful
No, no, no…I just showed it with 2.0, because I wanted to roll a presentation with a setup I am familiar with. Zbrush2.5 is still steaming hot and I wouldn’t have wanted to burn my fingers on a show with things like: “WOWEE what does THIS great thing do, sorry folks, I need to play with this now, you’re welcome to watch me explore…”!
As far as I understand we are looking at the final stage of its creation and as far as I have seen, it’s running beautifully already!
My suggestion to you is to keep dinking around like crazy with Zbrush 2.0 to really get to know it by heart, because everything there is to come will still have the same basics and truely will make you happy after you’ve mastered them.
For instance: I have hardly played with the Zspheres, but now that I know for sure what will happen in 2.5 I know that I should practice some more to really get fluent with them! They’ll play a major role!
Everyone has been hanging in there for quite some time, but it really will be a phenomenal pay-off, trust me! I even dare to believe that the amount and the quality of features that got and still get pumped into it beat most if not all packages in terms of speed of work until completion!
Well, ahm…we at pmG with our Messiah:Studio do know all about the efforts it takes to get on top of a new version and, although we’re faster then it might be noticable to everyone, we can only admire the leap that Zbrush’s 2.5 version will demonstrate.
