ZBrush 4R7: Released!

@ jbmonge … Did you scroll down far enough within your email? It would indeed be strange if the download link hasn’t been send with it. It’s named Keyshot content installer (in my case for Mac) and is found under step 2. I’ve added a screenshot.

If you really didn’t receive it send a support ticket. They’ll help you out without any doubt :slight_smile:

No Eldero i have not this link on my file maybe because they sent the emails after i have submit a ticket and they miss this on.
But thanks for your answer, now i know that I haven’t miss something ^^. I haven’t the pack link on my email. And I am sure that I am not the only one, so maybe it will be good if Pixologic make a thread about that.

Just to say the bridge between Zbrush and keyshot crash a lot on Mac osx. And i just work on a scene with 7 milllion of Poly on a mac pro 2 x 2.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon with 64 GIG of memory and AMD Radeon HD 7950 3072 MB.

Export Movie (timelapse and history record) now exports as .MPEG instead of .MOV

I just noticed, not that it matters but wondering why?

It does matter a lot in fact! Not having other codec and most of all not having access to chose the compression level of the video to export from Zbrush for some of us is a big deal! I already post a thread on this matter about a week ago.

What does it mean is not only you have a crappy output that you can not use in comp if you do something else then just a turn (the color are pale and the picture is blurred), but it also mean that you must use another software to do video tutorial if you want to have a good quality output that you can and/or want to tweak as you wish.

So yes it does matter for some of use. But most of all you are right saying… why? It was very useful to be able to export in .mov with animation compression (no compression) for plenty of raison.

elemmanuel - Your right of course it does matter, I much prefer .mov / QuickTime. Proper quality with more control and flexibility. I’m sure they’ll sort it out soon enough.

doqpelganger - That’s weird. Mac or Windows? It’s there on Windows, or at least my Windows, just no option for QuickTime export, only MPEG (as indicated by holding CTRL while hovering over the button)

Pixologic will sort out all the bugs no doubt.

I too had to submit a ticket to get my Keyshot and Zbrush bridge and did not get a link for the pack. Kinda of discouraging but had grown weary of the whole process and did not pursue it any further.

OK my first fan boy post - One thing for me which makes me very stoked is how Zmodeler and dynamic subdiv are easily translated with GoZ - pleased to see that the hard surface creases that are in Zbrush are translated into the primary production App (maya).

That’s a biggie if I want to speed up my hard surface workflows for production - Kudos to the team.

Caveat - I have yet to get these smoothing/hard edges to GoZ translate to modo - anyone have any suggestions - works in maya oddly enough (something to do with the way modo handles edge weighting differently to maya).

I can’t get GoZ to Modo to work at all. Did you have to edit the Form Editor in Modo, to get GoZ from ZB to
Modo working?

Edit: Sorry…totally wrong. GoZ to Modo 801 now works. :slight_smile: Reinstalled GoZ, all is well.

I thought when I bought Zbrush for keykot that keyshot will be a great help for the render, but I don’t understand why keyshot crashes all the time 8 times on 10 when I change a material or simply when I enlarge my mesh on the canvas:
keyshot crashes.

For better understanding my issue, here is a quick idea of the scene I am working on.
A head that has 10 subtools for a total weight of less than 5 millions of poly, I have texturemap (on) in ZB before I launch the bridge and after I load maps on keyshot for the specular and for the bump.
My maps are in 4K.
I run on a mac with a ssd of 250 that I use for the applications and my User disk is on a 1 tera hard drive.
I have another 2 tera hard drives on the machine.
It is a mac pro Software OS X 10.9.5 (13F34) - Processor 2 x 2.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon - Memory 64 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC -Graphics AMD Radeon HD 7950 3072 MB.
Normally it is a big config so I don’t really understand why keyshot crashes all the time.

So:
I am not familiar with technique stuff but is it possible to have a conflict with the placement of the applications support on the Library and the shared folder which are both on the SSD and the User folder which is on the Data hard drive of 1 Tera ???
Or:
Is it possible that my internet connection makes the bridge instable between Keyshot and ZB ? I use a WiFi.

It’d be cool to get that out soon as we’re stuck on 4r6 until it’s released… It was supposed to be mid February, so I guess any day now. Just not sure how we get notified of it?

Keyshot for Zbrush crash all the time on my mac

I have a Mac also and fortunately am not experiencing anything resembling this. But I do wonder why you haven’t upgraded to 10.10.2? Every upgrade also includes a ton of bug fixes that they never mention [applies to most all programs and applications, not just Apple]. I suggest you upgrade to the latest Yosemite. Hope that helps.

I am a little bit lost in terms of the extra content for KeyShot. Is this only available when you get KeyShot for Zbrush + The Bridge? Or do you also get it if you get the KeyShot Bridge only?

The reason I am asking is because I only plan on getting Bridge for now. I’d be sad if it didn’t come with all the backplates, HDRs and materials.

On either purchase, you get the extra contents.

if you’re on mac, try changing the view of the finder to list…that solved it for me.
