Hi guys! I’ve been struggling to figure out the workflow for transferring files from zbrush to Maya 2014. I’d like to get a low poly version of the mesh with uvs into Maya and apply maps to have it look like the high resolution version in zBrush. The main problem I’m having is the displacement maps are either badly distorted or not connected at all in Maya.
I’ve tried transferring it a few ways so far:
- GoZ - this method moves the low resolution version to Maya but when rendered, the maps are blurred. What hypershade connections does this use?
- Manually - import .obj manually into Maya, attach map is displacement map option of shader, causes a spiky blown out render
How should displacement maps be made in zBrush? I think I may be doing it wrong. They keep coming out blurred. What is the best way of getting a low poly mesh into Maya with maps? Thanks so much for the help!
