I started with zBrush 1.55b sometime around 1999 give or take a year,16 bit 3D card .only 64 RAM,Now in 2013 ,2048 RAM 3D Card ,8 Gigs of RAM.I think zBrush 1.55b was around $50.00 or $75.00.I can’t remember ,Has there ever been a paid upgrade ? 32 bit zBrush Rules. so I’m not worring about 64 bit.
I am very fortunate! From the very first release 1V to the ZBR6 version. The best support ever and the less expensive all the time! Thanks Pixolator TEAM!!!
anybody have results or info with the new crease brush they would like to share?
just when you think theres just cant be ANY more innovations BAM.! another flys out and hits you square in the temple…!
…AWESUM…
I know everyone’s pumped about Zremesher, with good reason to be, but am I the only one who is super excited about dynamesh keeping polygroups without having the annoyance of the group option separating the pieces?!?!?!??
Did we ever pay for any of the upgrades ?
Thanks so much. This is going to help me a lot.
Thanks guys.
I just got my copy and will play soon …
I use the ZB 45 update option, no problems …
Way Cool !!! small_orange_diamond

I agree with all the positive posts. ZBrush is hugely great value for money. As an 18 year old student working part-time, the free upgrades are much appreciated. Add to that the upgrades are always big news and worth looking forward to.
…look at all that someone talented enough can accomplish with limited 32 bits! Go to the galley and behold the awesome creativity. I think the movie: Pitch Black, creatures were made using Maya 1. The point is MANY movies etc. are created with what we would consider antiquated software. Somehow it was all done with 32 bit. By the time I learn the tools of one ZB version, the updates change the workflow! (for te better) of course ZB allows the user to do the same task in many ways! …Also, I agree, Dynamesh keeping polygroups is very helpful! Thank you Pixologic!
FYI tried the update through the web, for whatever reason my GOZ links dropped. I un-installed the program and reloaded the full program and it worked really good. Once again a truly outstanding company. Thank you!!!
is it my imagination, or has memory improved on the Mac? Before I have never been able to successfully deal with a more than 6million poly sub tool before I lose out to an “out of memory issue” Last night–on my laptop I have been working with an 11 million-poly sub tool with no problems whatsoever!
ZBR5 on a Mac crippled Projection Master. Whilst I haven’t yet put it through all the paces, PM in R6 seems to be running just fine now on a Mac. An unexpected surprise that helps me more than some (but not all) of the real upgrades.
Thanks Pixo
Thank you …!!!
Any idea when the floating license will be updated for my use at work? We use floating licenses and our IT dept who handles the software pretty much leaves it up to me to figure out when these are generated. Last time, no email was sent from Pixologic and 6 months went by without our upgrade.
Also, does this fix the qremesher spiral issue? (double click an edge and the edge loop spirals down the mesh which needs to be manually fixed)
Thanks
Let me start by saying Zremesher is a monumental achievement. I use topogun and shuffling back and forth between apps is not something im fond of. Zremesher does indeed do a good job. There is one thing i personally would love to see that would seriously complement Zremesher and make retopo solid and damn near complete. I would love a way to collapse edge loops. An easy way to select and collapse edge loops. I know there is an edge loop function that does this, but it does not often do a good job. Just my two cents, maybe there is a way to do this already. Anyway… thanks pixologic, this is really cool stuff!
Great update thank’s guys small_orange_diamond
I love ZRemesher!
I would like to see a small improvement though… remeshing according polygroups.
Currently there is only the option “Freeze polygroups”, which actually keep the same topology on polygroups borders: as a result, it is not really possible to reduce the polygount.
If instead I don’t activate the “freeze polygroups”, not only I lose all my pg, but the generated mesh loses some volume on polygroups borders. I think that zremeshing+pgroups could lead to great topology for hard surfaces.
Wish I knew what there future plan was in regards to upgrades? Obviously a v5 64 bit would be a big step and what I would be really looking for, so it would be sad to buy a copy now before the raise the price a $100 in a few weeks only to have an upgrade cost to v5. Particularly after free upgrades for so long. Guess I am still kicking myself for not picking it up so long ago.
