ZBrush 4R4 - Are YOU ready ?

Thanks to My GOD that give me the chance to see another GEM from Pixologic Team!
Thanks Ofer and all the Pixologic Team! Im very affortunate for this!:+1:

Just silly, thx guys

Have to say Zbrush is now the undisputed champion of all things sculpting, doodle with dynamesh, retopo with Qremesher, uv with UVMaster and done, I can now hardly remember the bad old days of uv/retopo hell and its only yesterday

Woooooooo Hooooooo - fantastic job Pixologic, keep up the good work

I didn’t read all the posts here,
I thought we had to pay for Qremesher… if I recollect correctly.

Anyway LOL
THANK YOU PIXOLOGIC! A wonderful gift once again The best zb build ever!

even if i took a skeptical view towards zbrush hard surface and basemesh creation tools in the first place, i really love working this way now; creating a highres mesh without even leaving zbrush; then retopo, baking - a very efficient and nice games assets workflow

thanks for this update, pixo! and the download procedure was so much better this time

two suggestions, for the next update:

  • it would be helpful though to have the ability to bake highres geometry into lowres geometry without having them connected as subdivisions - like maya or max does;

  • still texturing is the weakest point - i would be so glad if we had a painting system like the one mudbox is offering inside zbrush;

cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeers

BIG THANKS!!! Great update!!

qremesher works like a charm

fantastic!!

This is truly amazing… I love the topology tools, they are truly a lifesaver… I am still trying to get the hang of QRemesher, I ran it and it didn’t auto topologize the model I made… maybe I am doing it wrong… and on the topology brush, am I stuck at the lowest subd level?

Damn!!! I will sell my kidney!!!

Feelings cant express after I saw the videos and was able to use it before siggraph! you sneaky devils . certtainly pulled the rug under me. You guys are the only company that always people to creatvively and freely make anything they can think of withought any restrictions. Im not worthy

WoOoW !! Great update !!! :+1:

Apart from being brilliant Pixologic are unbelievably generous!

It just makes you realise what a terrible company Adobe is with their awful dribbles of ā€˜enhancements’ for exorbitant fees.

Still missing depth cue though… are we to use BPR filters instead? As I can’t seem to get a decent depth cue out of them.

Thanks all round!!

christmas in july!!!

Hello

Yes use the Blur filter and then turn on Depth. Which you can then use Depth A and Depth B the same way you would with Depth Cue by clicking and dragging onto your model. You can keep adjusting the roll off as well. Much better then Depth Cue because you have instant feedback.

Great! Thank you very much. I’ll fiddle some more

ā€œIn some circumstances it is useful to orient Transpose exactly to the surface normal. For example, having the action line perpendicular to the surface can be useful for doing
a clean extrusion. It is also quite useful when using an Insert brush – both for inserting
the shape as well as for manipulating it after insertion.
To help achieve this alignment, a single click on any part of the surface will set the
Transpose Line to match the normal at the click point. The Transpose line will be placed
perpendicular to the surface.ā€

that“s the kind of features i appreciate; and the documentation is also quite clearly arranged

superb!

Retopo is something I’ve been waiting for years. Insert mesh and curve brushes are superb as well.
Thx Pixologic team!!!

second video gave me goosebumps… I am such a nerd

Amazing update, I just installed it in my box at work and the new features are working like a charm. The only one I find a little awkward is the topology brush, it doesn’t seem to behave the way I’d expect it to.

At any rate, great update, it’ll definitely help me a lot with the workflow I’ve been using lately.
The only thing I really don’t like about zbrush right now is the way polypaint data works with the layers in zbrush. It’s a really bad workflow that feels dated and clunky and zbrush has definitely fallen behind the competition in that aspect.
Still 10 steps ahead of everyone else as far as sculpting goes, though :~)

Just checked the Pixologic website this morning, didn’t know about a new version, and KABANG, there it was, a new version and ready for download!! Some great new features, like making holes in meshes (!!), the new curve tools (very handy) and of course the remesher!!

You guys are amazing the way you keep pushing the boundaries and keep evolving the workflow in ways unimaginable. You guys are at least as creative as all the artists making all these incredible sculpts. Chapeau, gentlemen, chapeau!!
