Maybe fibermesh wasn’t such a good Idea …?

Haven’t reallly explored features of new update.
But.
Really big thank you for something not mentioned.
Until this update ,GoZ to Maya has never really worked correctly fo me
Basically one way trip Zbrush to Maya only.
Sent support tickets, no help, developed workarounds.
As of this update all works correctly.
Have a feeling I am thanking everyone a few months too late.
If I get this alone, the update was worth it.

going to be some amazing sculpts coming through from those artists who never got around to learning hair programmes!! also its soo much fun! I think the preview factor makes the biggest difference! I’ve had a massive breakthrough with this new feature…

you’ve out done yourselves and the bar was so high already!!! Zbrush you rule!!!

I love it

Hello, I’ve had a quick play with the fibremesh and micromesh tools and they are really nice to use. I have the same question as Gareee about the micromesh tools. Is there anyway to turn the micromesh image into geometry so that it can be exported to another program?

Alternatively, does anyone know of a UV unwrapping tool that will take the individual hairs of a fibremesh model and unwrap each hair to the same (overlapping) UV space?

thank u for a great update. You guys keep breaking the boundaries of creativity.

That’s odd. There is no PDF in the zip file I downloaded?

There is in the documents folder.

What you’re asking is located under UV panel. A new “fiber UV” button !
But read the documentation first.

Thank you Pixologic!!
After the R2 update I mentioned to my co workers, all zbrush needs now is a hair system and it will be unstoppable! And praise Odin here it is…
Its so easy, and so intuitive, that the fellow artists around me dont know what to think of it quite yet…
Both my boss and shot supervisor have expressed that they wish EVERYTHING could just be rendered in Zbrush because it looks better than what we are able to achieve with Maya/Vray…

At first glance everyone thinks its really cool, but they always fall back to short-sighted thinking, “that looks amazing, too bad its not production ready”
Using Zbrush for a few years now I know that Pixologic constantly improves existing workflows and functions, so it surprises me that other zbrush artists assume that FiberMesh will always exist in its current state…
This is only the beginning. All that needs to be implemented is a “Make Guides” or “convert to Splines” button and we are golden.

And it appears someone has already done it for Maya/Max hair. That was fast!

For the past 4-5 Months I’ve sculpted about 20 creatures for the show Grimm.
Zbrush has not only made the level of detail we are after, possible to achieve, but has allowed some pretty amazing 3D morphs. Human to Creature and back again…
Now with the improvements to BPR and the addition of FiberMesh, my renders and turntables really pop!
Thanks again Pixo Team!

jBogh awesome you guys use Zbrush in Grimm one of my fav shows

already noticed the effect of this update on numberous other artistic forums … hair … hair… hair… everywhere…

unfortunatly i’m travelling in south asia for 6 months without computer :cry:small_orange_diamond:cry: but anyway, thank you so much Pixologic, i will see these wonderfull new features when i’ll be back!

Let’s switch… Send me PM how to do it. Do not send if you only cleaning toilets there

Troubleshooting questions should be posted in Troubleshooting thread for ZBrush 4R2b HERE

The fibers were something missing to all of the character designers despite the numerous methods of faking it… until now!
It will definitely help me to complete the project I’m working on and on further project.
Thanks a lot for this new implement to my favorite 3D software. You guys are just amazing and how can it get even btter? You rock !!!:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

found something about Qremesher

For all of you who need retopology so much here is something that makes it look seriously trivial:
http://vimeo.com/9260181
And its free.

Yeah…Topogun looks faster. Anyway, I’m more interested in the Noise plug-in. I hope that’s coming sooner than later!

Very nice, Zbrush is No 1 .What about a small sneak peek of qremesher?
