Apologies for the delay!http://pointpusher.com/prefs/zBrush/

PointPusher…
You realize this mean I can send the edit button where it belongs?? Im going to send it to the seventh frozen hell and never ever ever ever hit it by accident again!!!

Revenge is good! Death to my Edit Button!

Thank you!!!
Mealea the vengeful.

Hya Frenzyfol!

Try placing your new alphas in:
.\ZBrush 4.0\ZStartup\Alphas\

Dont worry about the UI stuff they SHOULD just show up.

Same thing for Brushes only they go in here:
.\ZBrush 4.0\ZStartup\BrushPresets

I suspect that a lot of stuff works like this…

Cheers!
Mealea

I am seeing that sort of problem with a lot of things especially doing anything with masking, clipping or shadow box, some how my keys are not the same and in some cases I cant figure it out, for example I cant do much of anything with shadow box… yet!
But I will figure it out and when I do I will be thrilled. (and post how and what and so on)

Cheers!

Lol! Nice!!!

I just noticed that the video at the beginning is gone, is it being replaced? It was very very helpful.
(also R2 fixed all the keyboard related issues I was having, I am rather thrilled with that development!)

Cheers!

Hey guys, I can’t edit the initial post, but here is the video and the link to the new UI for R2:

[VV]14133817 [/VV]

And the UI can be downloaded from here: pointpusher.com/prefs/zBrush/

Holy cow that was fast!!! THANKS!!!
Next time I should ask for coffee too!

GRIN!

Thanks, pOiNtPuShEr. I have updated your initial post on page 1, as well as the title of the thread.

why not post this

An error was found that prevented ZBrush 4R2 from allowing you to place certain items into your Custom UI. Any item from the Tool palette could be used, but upon saving the UI and restarting ZBrush, those elements would disappear again.

To resolve this, simply download and install the plugin found here: https://support.pixologic.com/index.php?_m=downloads&_a=viewdownload&downloaditemid=7

After downloading, unzip the file. Within you will find the UIStarter_Z4R2_V1.zsc file. Copy that file directly into your ZBrush 4R2\ZStartup\Zplugs folder. Upon restarting ZBrush you will now be able to create custom UI’s using elements from the Tool palette.

Be aware that in Z4R2 the “Enable Customize” button is now found in the Preferences>Config menu. Preferences>Custom UI now only includes spacer items and other elements for creating custom palettes from scratch.

Also, once Enable Customize is turned on you must Ctrl+Alt+drag the elements in order to move them. Ctrl+drag will not work.

right here?

Seems to be the right place for fixing corrupted things - even after following the initial “tut” exactly.

im using your custom zbrush42 ui thanks. your work is a inspiration

Thanks so much for the kind words! Glad you’re digging the UI as well.

Nice!

Only just came across this today, better late than never. I was trying ctrl drag instead of ctrl alt for moving menu items earlier and was about ready to tear some hair out, so thanks for the more up to date video!

Not sure why I took this long to mess with the Zbrush defaults. I obviously don’t get to use this software enough at the day job.

Do you know how to make a slider shortcuts (like the draw size, focal size, Z intensity and so on) for the Brush embed option that we can find under Brush>tablet pressure>Brush embed?

I would like to have a cursor-like button so that I can directly set the value by moving/sliding the cursor?

I know it’s possible because I saw this kind of “custom” slider on various video tutorials, but I really don’t know how to do that, as the traditionnal ctrl+alt doesn’t seem to work for that…

thanks.

I’m pretty new to Zbrushing and I am almost too embarrassed to ask but here goes, after downloading Pointpushers
amazing UI, how do I go about loading it into Zbrush. Many thanx!

I have downloaded and made a backup of my ZStartup, but upon replacing everything I have nothing in my UI. I remove the CustomUserInterface4R2 and it loads the default UI. I’m just trying to get it like you’ve got it in the video alot easier on the eyes. Upon replacing CustomUserInterface4R2 it loads a blank UI and there is no buttons or anything. Kinda confused on why it’s doing this.

I updated the file, should be all good now. Let me know if it works.

I am new to ZBrush. And with ZBrush 4 R4 it is not possible to do all the same things as in the video, or at least I can not get the same results following the instructions exactly. By ctrl+alt-dragging I can reposition/delete the icons on the left side, but I am not able to put individual brushes anywhere as shown. First, not all brushes are shown in the brush pallette (which I put into the left tray as shown in the video), only the recently used brushes are visible. And secondly, every brush I put somewhere by ctrl+alt-dragging just invokes the brush-selection panel (=hit key ‘B’) when I click on it, and not the brush itself. Obviously some major overhaul of the GUI happened. So how do I place buttons for individual brushes somewhere into the gui?

And (second question) (how) can I define a keyboard shortcut to hide the left/right) trays (as it is possible with Tab for the areas with the buttons)?

Thank you very much.

OG

Thank you. This helped a lot.
