Zbrush 4R2 crashing with my sculpt!

Hi everyone -

I am working on a Zbrush sculpt and unfortunately it crashes every time I leave my sculpt open for 30 seconds.

At first I was getting a memory error, I fixed that by allocating 2GB of RAM to Zbrush and expanding my virtual memory. I also turned off auto-save and optimized Zbrush for multi-threading.

I am pretty stuck, and I can’t work anymore until I get this fixed. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

System Specs:

Q6600 Quad-Processor @ 3.2Ghz
3GB DD2800 Gskill RAM
Nvidia 9800GTX

Windows 7 64 bit

Thanks for the screen shot. Unfortunately, you’ve cropped it and in the process removed some of the information that we need in order to help troubleshoot. Your screen shot should always be completely unmodified and include the entire title bar.

It would also help to know how many polygons this model has. Is the issue only happening with this model or is it happening with other similar-sized models as well?

Also, it wouldn’t hurt to have at least 6 GB RAM if your OS is 64 bit. 4 GB for ZBrush and 2 GB for your OS.

ps: (nothing to do with ZBrush) I also noticed that you have your Q6600 overclocked. Is it Prime95 small FFT’s stable?

Thanks for the responses.

I loaded up some tools that came with Zbrush. All crashed within a minute of use.

Also, I have tested my CPU with Prime95 and the temperatures are perfect. I use watercooling.

In order to be of any further help we need that unedited screen shot.

Thanks.

Sorry. I didn’t want it to seem like I was ignoring you. The reason I didn’t answer is because I just ordered 4GB extra RAM due to the fact that I’m getting memory errors on apps other than Zbrush. I doubt the problem has to do with Zbrush anymore… Which is a good thing! For you, atleast.
