I am running Windows ZBrush 4R2 and when I attempt to change the brush size and focus, the brush icon does not change at all. It remains around size 100, focus 0 and will not reduce or enlarge. Is there a preference setting I am missing here ?
Does this in the ZBrush UI and Paintstop. When I select a pencil in Paintstop the brush size is still set very large.
OK this is weird !
If I start ZBrush and simply paint, then I am unable to change the size of the brush in the main UI and in Paintstop.
However, if I drag out an object and go into edit mode, sculpt on it with the standard brush it works. If I now drop the object and clear the canvas the brush now behaves as normal.
If I then restart ZBrush again, I get the same problem.
Yes, I noticed that you can’t adjust Draw Size in Paintstop. It just stays the same size. Something wrong there I think.
This is odd and I confirm I can reproduce the behaviour. I found that if you load a 3D object (such as the Polymesh3D Star) and draw on the canvas the draw size will adjust OK after entering Edit mode. You can turn Edit off again and it will then be OK in ZB and PaintStop.

If I am not mistaken, there was a way in the previous version to have a sphere pre-loaded in Edit mode when starting ZBrush ?
Is this possible now ?
If so, then all I have to do is to hit T, ctrl-N and that should solve the problem (probably the quickest workaround).
