Greetings Everyone,

I’m getting acquainted with Zbrush using the trial download of Zbrush 3.1. My understanding is that 3.5 r3 is the current version but that ZB 4 has been long awaited. I have two questions I hope someone can help me with. (1) Does anyone know when v 4 is scheduled to be released? (2) If I buy 3.5 now, will I be expected to pay for an update to v 4, assuming it comes out in the near future? (There really is a ZB 4 right? It’s not just an inside joke?)

PS: I was surprised when I searched the forums and found absolutely no reference to ZB 4. Also, yes I did contact Pixologic with my question. No, I never got a response.

Only pixologic know and they’re not telling. Remember that zbrush 3.5 is still awaiting for release before there is any site of v4.

(2) If I buy 3.5 now, will I be expected to pay for an update to v 4, assuming it comes out in the near future? (There really is a ZB 4 right? It’s not just an inside joke?)

Version 4 will be a free upgrade if you already have a zbrush license.
