Is zbrush3.5 the latest version available for purchase? I read that zbrush 4 was supposed to be released last dec. but I don’t see it for sale. Does anyone have and info on this?
Yes thats right, latest versions are 3.5r3 for Windows and 3.12 for OSX, ZB4 isnt out yet but fingers crossed it wont be too long 
If the past is anything to go by it seems fairly likely the update will be free though.

Please, if someone has any date about release the new ZB4 version, say it.
I don’t know how many times people need to say this but there has been no announcement as to when v4 will be released. Version 3.5 for OSX needs to be released before then and that is still being beta tested.
The only people who have a reasonable knowledge as to the v4 release date is Pixologic themselves and that are currently not saying. Probably a good thing as they ususally miss release dates by months or even years if they announce before they are ready for the release.
Any date other than an official response is just uninformed speculation so in other words worthless.
Just wait until an OFFICIAL announcement which will most likely show up on the top gallery so very clearly visible.

Wise words Richard. Also how about learning how to handle 3.5R3 first before shouting for Z4?
And don’t forget, first we have got to bring the poor Mac guys up to date until we should even talk about Z4.
I am waiting just as desperate for Z4 as anyone else, but we will have it when we have it, in the meantime i am fairly happy with R3.

I understand, that you said, but first of all, that I wanted to know was an OFFICIAL reply, not blatherings. Is supposed, that this is an OFFICIAL forum, and sometimes ZB people reply.
And Richard, I though, that the next version will be for both platform, Windows and OSX at the same time. So, in that case, I don’t think that they need to release 3.5 version first.
Second thing, dsoellbuster, I have the luck, to work as professional sculpter since 7 years ago, in an important VFX movie company, and I work in ZBrush everyday, so don’t tell me about handle it. I am suffering the pain of the ZB pipeline, and for that reason, we are adopting Mudbox 2011 linux version for better communication between the departments. I am waiting for the next version, because I would like to know if the pipeline will be improved or I need to move to Mudbox definitely. I prefer ZB for all of the features that have, but the pipeline is the worse ever saw.

Pixologic will make an ‘official’ announcement when they are ready to, not just because people keep asking the same question again and again. Any announcement I want to be a real announcment. Pixologic have a long history of saying release dates and never meeting them, sometimes by months or years. This just makes things worse by dissapointing their customers, more than not making an announcement.
3.5 for OSX is currently in beta so is to be the next release to bring all systems in line. The idea after that is supposedly to release Win and OSX at the same time after that. Why do you thing v4 could be released before 3.5 for OSX, sounds nuts! Should they not release the OSX version of 3.5 but wait another 6 or 12 months before v4 is ready ? No thankyou very much.
The summary is, you’ll have to wait until Pixologic decide to say something. If that means you using alternatives to zbrush, you have to use what meets your needs. I don’t think you owe anything to zbrush.
