Zbrush 4 - skipping undos?

Hey there, this isn’t necessarily a Zbrush 4 question, but a general one.
Yesterday I was doing some quick sketches on top of my model, and something I did at a later stage I was very satisfied with, and was afraid I wouldn’t be able to repeat it any more, but the bad before stages I didn’t wanna keep…tough luck.

So I’m asking is skipping undo stages a possibility or a dreamers wish? In any program?

If the latter I’ll just stick to layers till it happens

what do you mean by skipping undo stages? In photoshop you have a palette for undo steps and you can go back to any specific one. Is, that what you’re talking about?

layers really are the better option, along with incremental saving, because then you can reload your tool anytime and have those old states available. where the undo states clear out on their own.

I’m no photoshop expert, but as I know you can go to history stages, and if you delete say 3rd out of 10, 3 thru 10 gets deleted. I was wondering if it is possible to only delete the 3rd and 1-2, and 4-10 to remain?

Thanks spaceboy, yeah I’m doing that, but sometimes I just wonder off like that and like something, and want that and not some of the previous moves
