Zbrush 4 sculpting issues

I’m fairly new to Zbrush so i apologize if this question is confusing to anyone reading it. Here is my issue:

I began creating a basic armature from zspheres. I got the armature to where i wanted it for the most part and created an adaptive skin (which is what i was under the impression i was suppose to do to get a geometry based figure that i could actually sculpt on). After that i began kinda filling in some of the mass but the problem starts on certain areas of the figure when i use any brush and go to add mass it will completely flatten the portion im working on. I notice it most often in the arms and legs but i have seen it happen to my chest even after i have already added to the area. Any ideas what this could be? Again sorry if this is a confusing or even stupid question just trying to figure out the ins and outs of this program still. Thanks!

Jeff

Not sure if this will help, but turn down the size and intensity of your brush. If your model is zoomed out to far and your brush intensity and size are too high it will flatten the part of your model you are working on.
