My friend wants to buy 3.5 R3 - will he get free upgrade to 4.0 ?

It says: “ZBrush 4 will be a free upgrade for all registered users of ZBrush on Windows and Mac systems.”
I guess we should take them at their word. 
Stated dates notwithstanding.
