Hi guys,
I’ve been having this problem and can’t find anything online about it. I’m following a tutorial on how to make a mouse character but when I try and load my mouse tool made from ZSpheres and make an adaptive skin with it ZBrush crashes every time. Also if I just press “a” on the keyboard ZBrush crashes as well (on this same tool). Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone have any idea how I can make my mesh out of the tool?
I’m very new to ZBrush (I’ve had it for awhile but finally just got the time to learn it). Any help with this would be greatly appreciated
I have a powerful system, Mac Pro, 3.33ghz Xeon hexcore processor, 24 gigs of ram, 8TB hard drive space, ATI Radeon 5870 graphics card.
I wanted to attach the mouse tool but its just barely too large to fit within the attachment limit : /
EDIT: I just found a thread that suggested turning Assistive Devices off (which I did) and not using old ZSphere tools (which I have not) and I am still getting crashes
I’ve also tried all of this:
"If you are experiencing excessive crashing with ZBrush 4 on OS X, try the following:
Go to your Mac’s Universal Access settings and disable the “enable access for assistive devices” setting.
Users who have been experiencing a lot of crashes have reported that doing this resolved their issues completely.
In any case it is also good to check your settings in the Preferences>Mem menu within ZBrush:
Compact Mem should be set to be 1000 lower than your total system memory, up to a maximum of 4096. If you have a 32-bit OS you should set this value no higher than 2048.
Undo settings should be left at the default of 4. You can temporarily raise these higher if a specific situation calls for it, but keeping them permanently higher robs ZBrush of resources and invites crashes.
Max Polys per Mesh should be no higher than twice the default value that ZBrush selects based upon your system resources.
HD Preview’s value should be reduced to increase performance rather than increased. This only has any effect when working with HD levels, however."
