Zbrush 4 Adaptive skin issue

Hi,

Im a new zbrush user and I got this adaptive skin issue on one model Im in the prosess of making:
When i turn on the preview on density 1 it becomes all “boxy”. I tried turning the density higher and it just gets smoother with some weird hard edges.
I have tried making a new zsphere and it works fine. Its just this one model. Anyone had this problem before? I was wondering if its an error with the model or if it some button/slider I might have used.

Turn off ‘Use Classic Skinning’ in ‘Adaptive Skin’ subpalette.

I have tried it, but didn`t work!

I havent got that far on that particular model and I can start over, but if it is an issue/button/slider or whatever Ill know the next time I encounter the same thing.

I’m having this problem too. Got this one Zsphere model that’s stuck on Classic even though the options is clearly turned off.

I can’t seem to recreate the bug but it persists on that one model, even after I restart and reload the tool. maybe I should upload it for you guys to look at.

I’d be curious to look at it if you care to upload it.

Well, that definately got stuck in Classic Skinning mode somehow. Did you create this in Z4R2 or older version?

Z4R2. Not sure what set it off though. Other models have worked fine.

I am having the exact same problem.

I have tried twice now to remake a zsphere model with both of them being “stuck” in classic mode adaptive skinning. Any update on whats causing this?

I too am a new user, and I have a similar question. After creating an adaptive skin, I can’t seem to subdivide the geometry like I can do in a regular mesh. Am I missing something. I have a similar “boxy” issue-a little better than this situation, but would like to take it to a higher resolution.
