i didn’t know Portal was such a hot topic it is really fun
(don’t worry Aurick, i’ll stop spamming the forums now :D)
We 64 bit users are not worried about comparability. We want access to more than 2 gigs or was it 4? of ram. you get that with 64 bit. All I know is I want full access of all 8 gigs of my Ram.
This would be nice. I’d love access to my 12 gigs
Nevermind
Counting the day’s … like a child so happy!

it’s 3 actually.
A 32-bit OS limits each application to 2 GB of RAM. (3 if you do something that Microsoft recommends against and doesn’t support.)
A 64-bit OS can give pretty much unlimited RAM to applications that are designed for it. For 32-bit applications, the ceiling is 4 GB.
You are such a tease You were soooooooo close to being our favorite moderator!
i c, guess i was misinformed, thanks for the info.
Aurick you might as well just put us out of our misery and give us a full list of ZB4 Features
Yeah Please, Aurick!
AURICK!
AURICK!
Everybody NOW!!
Don’t you know, it’s Pixologic.
They don’t have a complete feature list. Zbrush 4 won’t come out in August. They’ll delay it…and delay it… Release 3.7 sometime in January and Zbrush 4 will possibly come out sometime next summer (or will it?)
But hey, don’t complain, it’s FREE upgrade.
IT’S NOT A FREE UPGRADE IF YOU NEVER GET AN UPGRADE.
Trust me, it was almost a year ago when I bought ZBrush for ther Mac with the promise that, by christmas, i’d be getting Zbrush 4.
these last few days are really getting painful, aren’t they?
it’s odd I usually have no personal connection to software and actually despise fan behavior for any OS or app, but I must admit, that Zbrush is the first software where I do almost get emotional. If there is any app I “love” then it’s Zbrush.
then again, there are quite a few reasons to have a lot of sympathy for Pixologic&Zbrush. Just compare what most of the other commercial 3d packages ( especially the big ones) charge for their updates to new versions and what they offer. sometimes you really wonder what has significantly changed at all with a new release while you are finding that simple basic features you have been waiting for years and years already are still not in.
and then there are moments with Zbrish like the one I had a few months back , where late at night I though it would be really nice if ZBrush 4 has more basic uv mapping functions and exactly the next morning I found UV Master to be released.
oh come on. yes, it was ‘only’ 3.5 instead of 4, but 3.5 was a major leap forwards in many aspects anyway. And Mac users even got Go-Zbrush to some degree. and yes, for free, if you had purchases before.
My point exactly.
Max users didn’t get 3.5
Gasp. what a sick joke, that is like telling someone that their spouse is dead when they are in fact alive.
Looking at the release date (8-9-10) I think we are already in a delay just to fit the nice date. I believe it´s all prepared already.
But the fact that the last few days are getting painful is really interesting. Every time. Shows how much we expect from the software. And the only reason for such expectations can be that we´re used to get tons of new cool features with new upgrades, so it´s definitely good signal for Pixologic telling they´re doing a good job. Or do you think that there are people out there sitting on the edge waiting for new 3ds max version too?
Ooh please, please, please take maxgamer off the mailing list!
Look at what we are getting. This is why it took so long. 4 is a bigger feature packed update than 3 ever was.
As for Mac version of 3.5… Zbrush isn’t the first or only piece of software or hardware that has not been released on time or been delayed. Yet you cult like Mac users still cling to Mac. Why? Its not Pixols fault that coding for Mac is a serious and expensive pain in the ass.
When I am burned by a company, I never go back and buy its products. I’m sorry man. I know its frustrating.
Is it wrong to wish for another movie of new features before the 9th?
