ZBrush 3 Beta Images/Things I can show

Hello,
I’m Brandon Lawless and here are a few of my first Zbrush ztools.
I have scupted professionally, traditionally, in Los Angeles for mmm, over ten years. Film, toys, Disneyland, commercials. For the past three or four months I have been using Zbrush 2.5 and I’m not missing clay or wax.

Most my stuff is under NDA but here are a few of the things I can show. -Brandon []![Doomsday.jpg|500x480](upload://kyvc5YSvJds5bcpeemYWGaQg7HG.jpeg) []![skulls1.jpg|800x570](upload://rqfPhxG1TKGlwlXUxMTFjSZKMkq.jpeg) []![Skulls2.jpg|750x475](upload://yBXqF6ZkmuBveBP8U4s4ztxqVFj.jpeg) []![Sandman1_2.jpg|660x623](upload://bha8T54YBIiPBIvTMib23Sz6qsy.jpeg)

Awesome stuff…Doomsday is fantastic…can’t wait for the DVD…
I do toys, too…also all NDA stuff and can’t show…also design and sculpt coins for the United States government as my full time job (did the new Washington dollar, Jefferson Dollar, Utah State Quarter, Martha Washington, Abigail adams and others) can’t state my mint work on my personal site but can talk about it…

love the animated look and how crisp the model is…
The skull composite piece is cool too…

Nice work, I would like to see the NDA stuff after seeing this! :stuck_out_tongue:

love the modeling,Brandon…spiderman isn’t showing up though:cry: Very clean models. I love the Sandman also.

thnx for sharing,

Thanks for the positive feedback,
Hey there Miguel
Brandon

Great work. Love the spiderman.

what is that spiderman from? the movie a personal thing?

Wohoo! nice stuff!

Really cool work here,Ive one question ~Does Zb3 have some kind of poly grouper for seperate meshes other than multimarkers. The skulls look as one but perhaps they wernt?Thats all!Answers greatly apprieciated!

cal

ZPIDERMAN!! WOO-HOO!!

Yeah, is that skull somehow ‘welded’ from multiple ztools? Merged into one with somekind of Z3 Magic?

About the skulls, nope, no welding or markers. The base mesh was done in Maya. I just sculpted them to look the way they do.

Hi Brandon…I just wanted to share something interesting with you (at least, I found it interesting).

My ex-wife recently published her first novel (which I was privileged to do the cover art for) called Reflections of Evil. The night before she received her advanced copies in the mail, she had a dream which she intends to use as the basis of her next novel. Anyway, in that dream there were 3 sisters that were burned as witches in the times of the Salem witch hunt. There charred skulls were forever fused together. Anyway, the story jumps to present time and many things will happen, but the 3 fused skulls will play an important part in the story.

She only told me of this dream about a month ago when I asked her about her new writings. Then, voila! I see your skulls entry. I sent her a link to this thread. She loves the picture and wanted me to tell you that it’s almost just like her dream and that it was eerie to see it come to life like that.

Hope to see more from you on the forum…I know your work must keep you extremely busy, but it’s always nice to see contributions from artists such as yourself. Thanks for sharing, I’m forever a fan.

Hi Brendon,

How does one go about having your 3D (ZBrush) models turned into hard copies, I am new at the whole scene and I see you do work for a toy company? I am from Namibia in Africa and nothing much is available in our country.

…rocks! :+1:

Very good works cherreborne!

very intresting works!

Great work, very professional. Do you have any video tutorials of yourself working?

I’m thinking of making a DVD. I’ve been using Zbrush for a year now and I’d like to learn all I can about color now that I’m comfortable in the modeling. Oh and I have done a few projects now that mix hard modeling in with the organic that I can’t show yet. As a traditional artist opening the door to rifles, boats, cars, spaceships, robots, etc … I am very happily busy with all of this.
Thanks very much everyone for the comments.
