zbrush 3 and zbrush 4 project files

I purchased a mesh model and I assumed a zbrush project file was a zbrush project file, but when I recieved the product it came with a .zpr extension instead of a .ztl extension. I recieved some obj files but I am assuming all the textures and uv maps and everything else is stored in the zpr file, is there any way to open that zpr file with out having zbrush 4?

if there isn’t would anyone be interested in opening it for me and saving all the textures and stuff in files that could be opened with photoshop, gimp and blender? I jsut have a trial version of zbrush 3 I would love to have the full version but I am on disability , so unfortunately there is no way I can afford to buy either full version, that is why i need them saved as files I can use in other programs.

ZTL files are the Tools (and Subtools) of a model, which is basically the same as the OBJ file. ZPR files are Zbrush projects, these contain a lot more information than just the model, they include things like lighting, settings, etc.

ZPR files basically aren’t backwards compatible so a version 4 ZPR won’t open in version 3, etc.

I could convert them for you if you want. Just need a way to download them from you. Since you purchased the mesh you might even have the option of downloading an OBJ file instead of the Zbrush version, depending on where you bought the model from. Some sites offer more than one format available, e.g., 3ds, obj.

sure that would be great I am not sure how to get you the files other then thru an email. what I wou,ld need is mesh objects save merged as one piece and all the textures saved as targa files that would probably be the easiest

let me know if you still want to do that and send me your email address unless there is an easier way for me to send you the files
