Zbrush 3.5r3 crashes with Applink on stratup

Hi all I’ve been googling with very little success with regards to this problem. I’m a fairly new Zbrush user and I recently started reading up on the kind of things I should be able to do with applink for texturing models.

So I downloaded Applink V3 and installed it (correctly) I’ve tried both manually and with the installer wizard and both attempts cause Zbrush to crash upon startup? Is it just that this version of Zbrush isnt compatible or is this a well known problem I could fix?

I’m running on XP and I’d like to link to Photoshop CS4.

The version of ZAppLink for download is not the right one. ZAppLink is included with R3. It is one of the many plugins that is installed by the ZBrush 3.5 R3 installer, unless you instructed the installer not to install it.

You may be able to fix this by deleting the ZAppLink that you just installed and then using the R3 installer’s repair feature to put the correct ZAppLink back again.

I too tried to get Zapplink to work, but I either crashed or got an error message stating that there was an error starting the external editor.

I found a thread that suggested that I delete my startupdoc.zbr which I had saved so would always start with a high resolution document. I deleted it and so far, it is working.
