Who are the “you guys” you’re addressing? I see users in this thread, not Pix employees. I’m just passing on information. I also fail to see the point of argumentation. Software “slips” of a week or more are pretty common throughout the industry . . . In this case, Pix may have slipped as much as 5 or 6 working days from their “End-of-August” deadline (Monday is a National Holiday in the US.) BFD. Take a chill pill–the current product works pretty well for most people, so it’s not like some huge piece of the base is unable to work (unlike the Mac normal map issue.)
And they have kept people informed through the support center, which is where I got my information from.

Want to see what happens when a release is rushed out the door? Take a look at Mudbox 2010. From what I can tell, their users are not exactly overjoyed. The wait for Pixo’s next release will be worth it—it always is.
This place is always entertaining around release time.

Obviously you dont remember that Pixologic so far is unable to meet ANY deadline they just give themselves, right? You have never seen before that situation? Or maybe you were just born yesterday?
EVERY release date Pixologic is proud to announce is blown. No one is forcing them to announce anything but they do. And then cannot meet that date which is making it look… lets call it “funny”. Surely they dont have calendars to check when will be national holiday right? What it has to do with release date anyways - servers are turned off on national holidays? No? Then what? They’re too busy waving flags? What kind of BS is that :lol:
I saw here legions like you - funboys. But what about new customers waiting? First waiting for Z4, then - by surprising turn of events - Z3.5 :rolleyes: There was at least 3 false release dates. And I understand that it can happened - JUST KEEP US INFORMED, PIXOLOGIC.

honestly, i understand the frustration.
the inability to hit self declared dates and then being completely MUM ON THE SUBJECT - instead of constant updates to the public on the current state of affairs could be FATAL for a company.
alas,
pixologic has the twin virtues of:
- overwhelming superiority and best in class of features
and
- free updates.
so tardiness must be given a pass.
but i do understand the frustration and i DON’T understand why pix deigns to give release dates AT ALL and then hunkers down into silence.
this isn’t singular to pix certainly but they can all learn a lot from gaming companies and how some of them handle their communities. i mean, stuff like this is almost what twitter was designed for.

People are giving it by the 9th to be released. I would be shocked if that’s the case.
Few days is up, maybe they should just say “give us another week” So it will shut people up and stop people from holding back on doing new work since they have their hopes up to start it in 3.5

Considering the number of goodies we get between releases, combined with the fact most companies would call mid-release updates new versions and charge for them, I’m a happy camper.
Besides, I don’t have time to play until the end of the week anyway.
The best proof that those guys are reading posts here is that couple of them - including mine - was deleted. Well Pixologic, guess what - there is lots of other forums that those posts cannot be deleted so I dont even know why you bother LOL

C’mon guys. Let it be. The release will come when it comes. Why not spend some time making models instead of complaining?
