zbrush 3.5 to maya 2010 issue

We just started using these versions of zbrush and maya at work and having some issues.
Check the attached image.
I have been trying various ways, including exporting directly out of zb in .ma format. Still the same issue.
The material is a mia and the renderer is mray. Tipical connections, nothing fancy.
I could use some help. Thank you.

Looks like you have some pinching on that edge. MR can have issues with rendering that because displacements cant “pinch” per se. It can also be disastrous if you have very tiny overlaps where the faces form little tack shapes interpenetrating each other. Its hard to describe but perhaps that makes sense.

The solution is to smooth and pinch that edge again and if possible make sure your topology follows the seam. Try and get as much of that sharpness as possible in the base mesh. Also rendering your displacement map on a higher level base mesh (denser) can help.
