Zbrush 3.5 R3 Crashes when Tool-SaveAs

Anyone have the same problem? Whenever I want to load a tool or saveas a tool zbrush will crash with a pop up saying zbrush is unable to properly complete this function.

using windows 7 home premium 64bit, 4Gs ram,

WEIRDDDDDDDDDD

It sounds like you have Preferences > Performance > Auto File Recovery enabled.

The function apparently does not work in Windows 7. I had the same problem with Vista 32 bit but Vista 64 bit works fine with Auto File Recovery enabled.

I just checked that, its grey which equals not enabled i assume. any other ideas???:frowning:

Does it have to do with windows 7 admin permissions in the tools folder or sth???
zbrush 3.5 is installed in my c:/programs(x86) which is the 32 bit part???

Not sure what it could be. I am running Vista 64bit and have not really been following zbrush issues in windows 7, sorry. Has it just recently started crashing or have you never been able to load/save?

There used to be an issue with network drives. So you could try enabling Preferences > Misc > Use ZFolders and then pressing loading or saving a tool. Use ZFolders will open the file dialog window in the relevant ZBrush folder, i.e Tool > Load will open in the ZTools folder.

Are you using Adobe Acrobat 7 ? I just read a post by Support that mentioned an issue with that version which could cause problems with file dialog windows.

ZBrush being in the c:/programs(x86) folder should not be a problem. But you could try running ZBrush as administrator just to be sure.

I have never been able to load/save a tool, I just checked my USE ZFOLDERS has always been enabled. And I run Zbrush as admin. I edited the compatibility in the properties suggested in the Troubleshoot notes.

I do not have adobe acrobat 7, I have acrobat 9 installed, not running in the background either.

any more ideas??? ZBRUSH GOD HATES ME
