*** ZBrush 3.5 for Windows RELEASED

Richard, Thanks for your concern and yes I know I can’t use all resources of my Mac but I couldn’t wait to wet my feet and play for now with what is still a toy (an artistic one) for me. All those new brushes are so temptating. I’ll need a while to handle the sktech brushes though.

Michel

I’m starting to think about going back to windows :frowning:
I’ve been a windows user for over 23 years and a mac user since the intel turn of apple.
I though the machines would be faster and so a good reason to make the change since now 3D was “decently possible to achieve” on a mac.
I love the mac OS! it is just genius!
You realize that when you start developing for the platform, and the whole “genius aspect” goes through the whole system without exceptions!
Well, almost… the graphic card drivers sucks! I mean now, when Apple machines all have nvidia card in it, why can’t just be a driver like for any other OS, which you can download an install and fix graphical issue!?
Thats the only thing I really hate about the system! the lack of control over your graphics card!
Oh… and another thing…
The fact always have to way for software releases for the platform! (I’m not being sarcastic here) it is just a fact.
I’m not blaming Pixo! I love Pixo and the genius brains behind it! the own my whole respect and admiration.
Autodesk also just won’t make a decent version of Maya for OSX! and the list goes on and on…
I’m tired of it.
I know it is a matter of time for this to change, but MY time is now and I don’t have the patience anymore to wait and then realize that the version for my OS, sucks and doesn’t work as it should! (talking about Maya here  )

So, is there a chance for me to change my Zbrush mac license to a windows license? why you guys don’t have a license like Luxology? it would be great to be able to install Zbrush twice! one on a PC and one on a mac.

So… I’ll stop it here.
I guess I was typing loud!

@ Reld

totally understand your problem;)

I hit this link like 5 times a day for weeks
hoping to finally get the mac3.5 version:D

Me too.

I imagine it will be a pretty well-publicized announcement. Probably on the Pixo main page too.

As we wait patiently onward…

Understand your point but switching to Windows is very steep price for having ZBrush earlier. But it is a valid request, since Mac and Windows versions are not released in sync, it makes a lot of sense to be able - for someone who has both machines - to switch back and forth. But it is too much to ask from Pixo, I think. I’d be just happy to have Mac Demo version (even 3.1 version) before I decide on buying my license.

Well, 3.5 release announcement appeared first in the forums long ago before it made to the front page. So it makes sense, not only a stress-relieving procedure, to check forums from time to time

With Mac 3.5 slipping to late October / November / even later, I really wonder what about supposed Q4 release of ZBrush 4 for both platforms ?

Yep. Every day!

Certainly makes you wonder. All we can do is hope. Looks like they’re being very quiet again. Ho hum…

Could we please have a status update on the Mac 3.5 release. A tidbit of info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

hi,i am ok with that. You should know if it is a question of months or years,at least. It would bo more honnest to respond.I think your silence about this discussion is not respectful for mac users.

No one can predict when bug squashing ends… Its done when its done. ZB 3.5 is like a year late already. Learn to use what you have instead of worrying about something new and as unyet released.

Many windows users are still using zb 3.1, because none of the plugins are even compatible with zb3.5 yet.

IMHO, 3.5 is just a sweet taste of things to come, and won’t be fully realized and useful until we also get the plugins working with it as well.

The daily ZBrush for Mac standup meeting routine (DIY version) :

Project Manager : Do you created the final deliverables of ZBrush for Mac today ?
ZBrush for Mac Developer : nope

Project Manager : Do we have a date for this ?
ZBrush for Mac Developer : [takes a deep breath and pause indefinitely, looking over PM head]

Project Manager : I’ll be back…

End of the failytale

Meeting scenario number two:

Q: Did you get that Mac version done yet?
A: Uhhhh, no. Kinda fergot bout dat.

Q: So what did you get done yesterday?
A: Uhhh, well…uhhhh…We spent our day monitoring the ZBrush Central Forum for any discussion about the competition and then deleted it. Hehehe…That’ll show em!

Q: So give me a time table as to when the Mac version will be available.
A: Uhhhhhh…LOOK, A SQUIRREL!!!

SERIOUSLY??? The moderator here keeps deleting my posts. Apparently they don’t have anything better to do, like actually get to work on the Mac version.
Really. This will all be over just as soon as we get at the very least an answer as to when it’s coming out. Isn’t there a manager or someone there of importance who can at least give us a timeline? Is it a week off, a year, what??? I would be happy to download the Mac trial version of ZBrush but apparently the only trial version for the Mac rhymes with “chud locks”.
(If you mention it by name you get your post deleted.)

Hi,
this is about 3 weeks that i’m experimenting “3.5”, and so far, I feel grate about it…
However, I’m getting a problem that I never met with “3.1”! My “normal map uv seames” are no more smothed… and I tryed every possible parameters or mapping uvs “modes”, sizes…
I’m asking myself if this is related to the HD subdivision use, or if this is a commun for many 3.5 users (?).
So here I’m asking you to help me see more clear, as i didn’t found any thread covering this case in this forum.

Thanks for helping,

Regards,
oliman

Deja Vu

Is there a way to unsubscribe to a thread?

Each time I get an email through I misread it to say Zbrush 3.5 for Mac released. grrrrr.

Mike

Should be a link at the end of the email to unsubscribe.

Btw… I have the same reaction when I get these emails. My heart skips a beat when I read the subject line. I want it to say “Mac” so bad I read over the 'Windows" part.

I guess there is no point of subscribing to this thread, because when it is released, it will not be announced in this thread. Hopefully a new one.

I’m dying to get this into my hands, when can mac users have some fun too

I guess we will see it when the pc users no longer have issues that I have seen reported. Its a shame but all we can do is wait. It will probably arrive just when I no longer have the time to use it. lol.

Mike

You may be right. Remember that whole thing where Pixo was going to do simultaneous releases? What ever happened to that noble notion?
