Getting error message “the application failed to start because it’s side by side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log is incorrect.”
I’m running Vista 64bit. Can anyone advise What I am doing wrong?
1)Run the vcredist_x86.exe file from the “C:\Program Files (x86)\Pixologic\ZBrush3\Troubleshoot Help” directory. If, for some reason it’s not there or still doesn’t work, just get it at MS’ site. Make sure that it’s the 2008 version and not the older 2005.
2)Make sure that your ZB is running as admin.
That should do it.
I bought it from Element5 back in the day. How many times do I have to upgrade before I can finally stay in the system? My last name begins with a “W”, and they said Wednesday was the day they hoped to get to everyone by, so I guess I’ll be contacting them on Thursday…
I am still waiting too.
I can’t help but to repeat this question that never get’s an answer.
Q: When will we (lack of budget users) get the chance to download a 30 day trial of this newer 3.5 build?
If there will be one, will it be available before or on the release of “GoZ”?
Thanks
Transposing is a native Zbrush feature…Whereas, Transpose Master is a plug-in.
Is it really too much to ask when will we receive it?
Quite a few people have been waiting for a week, again, can pleeease someone from Pixo give us a piece of basic communication on this?
PS:I hope my message won’t be deleted again for daring to ask this.
judging by the mails, some will be getting 4 before 3.5,
I’m sure it sucks that they’re so slammed over there and they don’t want to deal with a bunch ( read: thousands ) of screaming people asking where their software is…BUT, a little explanation would go a long way.
I wish it were that simple. All of my info is up-to-date and I’ve submitted 2 support tickets already but not been responded to at all. I even called them and asked what was going on, but they basically just said sorry you have to wait. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of purchasing Zbrush for PC on the day it came out which put me on some sort of list, just not the automatic update list. Therefore, my fait is in the hands of someone manually sending out the upgrade information, at least, that’s how it was explained to me on the phone.
I’m so tired of furiously checking my emails ( its been 4 days now ) that I might just call and cancel my order. I already own Zbrush for Mac, I thought I’d be a good consumer and pay twice the price for the PC version because I work on both Mac & PC. At this rate, I’’ get the OSX version before PC.
Hi Support, do you refer to the reply I received yesterday or are you suggesting I submit another ticket? Because that reply to my ticket that I received yesterday says that I should not submit more tickets.
Then it says “bear with us” but doesn’t say for how long.
Badassembly, you’re assuming that you didn’t receive it because you just bought it instead of being an existing PC licence owner.
I didn’t buy it now, I’m a PC user that bought it over 2 years ago, I only registered with support on 29th August though, and only because it was announced that it was through them that the upgrade was delivered but I can think of no reason as to why that should be a problem.
In fact no explanation is given as to why our addresses were not in the automatic list.
And there shouldn’t be a reason why they shouldn’t be able to send an automatic email to all those on the support register now, why is it done manually?
So what went wrong … im still waiting for teh initial EMAIL for 3.5
and its already at 3.5R2 …
So why am i still waiting for a link email …
Whats up with this…
Chris
Sounds like they need to revolutionize their software release workflow. Can we get a zspheres equivalent to upgrade delivery?
I just received an email from Pixologic to register my Zbrush 3.12 Mac licence!
I’m on a PC!!!
And I’m waiting for my 3.5!
We are working to get upgrade links sent out to everyone. A small percentage of upgrades are having to be handled manually because for one reason or other they were not able to be included in the initial batch of automatic emails or because they did not receive that initial upgrade email.
This sort of thing could have happened for a number of reasons. For example:
- The purchase was made a few days before the launch of ZBrush 3.5, and so couldn’t be included in the initial mailing from Cleverbridge.
- The purchase was made using an email address that is no longer in use. (This is why we announced in mid-August that people should make sure that Cleverbridge had their current email address.)
- The purchase was actually for a Mac license and so isn’t eligible for the PC upgrade. (Temporary PC licenses that were given before version 3.12 released are not able to be upgraded. We’re working on the Mac version of 3.5 now and will upgrade you when it comes out.)
- Computer glitch that somehow left you off the list. It doesn’t prevent you from upgrading; it just meant that we have to handle the upgrade manually.
I hope that helps a bit!
I just got my email. I hope you get yours soon!

Wait a moment!
When I bought my Mac version Zbrush 3 for Mac was such a long way away that I bought a PC and migrated all my software to PC only because of Zbrush.
So originally it was a Mac version with a temporary PC licence but really it’s no use for me and I became a PC user because Pixologic took its time to come out with a Mac update.
And it was upgraded to 3.1 no problem.
Are you really saying that you want to give me a Mac upgrade?
My Mac is now obsolete, it’s got Motorola processors ad I cannot install Zbrush 3.5, or even just 3 since when it came out it was for Intel chips only.
i know its because i purchased zb 3.1 on friday so thats why
cool mate.
i understand now
