zbrush 3.5 displacement settings

hi Im new to zbrush 3.5 and whenever I export my displacement map to 3dsmax the details dont appear
what are the settings am I suppose to have in displacement map in zbrush 3.5 ??
thanks

this is how my displacement turns out all blurry and loses detail

im also getting a split in the middle of my model as soon as the displacement map is created any way how this is caused and how to fix it ?

please can someone comment

I’m on the hunt for this info too, there seems to be alot of different setting depending on what version of max you have.

Guides I’m follow:

im using 3ds max 2010 and vray
shouldnt the output all depend on zbrush anyway?

bump

Logically it should but, it seems Audodesk keep changing things in max to keep us on our toes :frowning:

has anyone resolved displacement maps in 3dsmax 2010 yet?

3.5 was a step backwards in this sense, but luckily there’s a handy workaround. As long as you use Mental Ray, here’s a detailed guide (with links) on how to achieve a super-high quality displacement map out of a zBrush 3.5 model:
