Do you need to run boot camp in order to run 3.12 on a mac?
No. 3.12 is native for the Mac. You only need Boot Camp if you want to run version 3.1, which is the Windows version.
Which you will need if you need zmapper or need to generate displacement maps in Multi-Displacement 3 (since the Mac version is broken with no ETA for a fix.)
